On 21 July 2020, the government announced changes to the JobKeeper program and extended it through to 28 March 2021.
Employers
To be eligible from 28 September to 3 January 2021, the employer must measure decline using actual GST turnover in both the June and September 2020 quarters to 3 January 2021, relative to comparable 2019 periods.
To be eligible from 4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021, the employer must measure decline using actual GST turnover in each of the June, September and December quarters 2020, relative to comparable 2019 periods.
Employees
From 28 September to 3 January 2021 employees that have averaged 20 hours+ per week will receive $1,200 per fortnight, others will receive $750 per fortnight.
From 4 January to 28 March 2021 employees that have averaged 20 hours+ per week will receive $1,000 per fortnight, others will receive $650 per fortnight.
